Hunter license — sell your hogs to our plant

Our company license registers you as a supplier, so you can bring field-dressed wild hogs to the plant in Hubbard and get paid by the pound.

By Updated

This is not a state hunting license. Our company license only allows you to sell hogs to the Wild Boar Meat Company. It does not replace a Texas hunting license where one is required — for example on public land. Since 2019 no state license is needed for feral hogs on private property with the landowner's permission.

How it works

  1. Apply with the form below and read the field-dressing rules.
  2. We call you to go over the rules, confirm your details and take the license fee.
  3. You get a license number. Give it at check-in every time you bring hogs in.
  4. Hunt, field dress and deliver by the rules — gutted within 30 minutes, heart, lungs, liver and skin on, at the plant within 6 hours.
  5. We inspect every carcass. Carcasses that pass are weighed and paid. Carcasses that fail are refused.

Why we have a license at all

Hogs killed in the field cannot be sold as meat for people in the United States — federal inspection requires the animal to be seen alive. Field-dressed hogs that reach us go into pet food, and pet food still has to be clean, fresh and free of contamination. The license is how we know who brought every carcass, that they understand our handling rules, and that we can follow up when something goes wrong.

It also protects good hunters: when every supplier follows the same rules, the plant can keep buying.

Three strikes

Any violation of the rules is a strike on your license — for example a carcass that arrives too late, without its organs, gut-shot or contaminated. Three strikes and the license is cancelled and we can no longer buy hogs from you. We may also refuse hogs at any time when our supply needs are met.

Who can apply

The license fee and current per-pound prices are confirmed by phone when we process your application.
