Two ways to sell
Live hogs
Where: Rockin M Pig Pen, 115 PR 336, Hubbard, TX 76648 (map)
Call first: 254-707-1043
Trapped hogs brought in alive, straight from the trap. Live hogs are the only source of the meat we sell for people, because every animal must be inspected alive before slaughter.
Dead hogs (field dressed)
Where: the plant, 1005 NW 4th Street, Hubbard, TX 76648 (map)
Call first: 254-315-1289
Hogs taken by hunters who hold our company hunter license and follow the field-dressing rules. Field-harvested hogs go into pet food.
How we pay
We pay by the pound. Prices change with the season, the size of the hogs and how much we already have in the coolers, so we do not post a fixed number online — call before you load up and we will give you today's price.
As a rule of thumb across the Texas market, live hogs are priced by weight class, and larger, healthy hogs bring more per pound than shoats. Clean, well-handled field-dressed hogs are worth more than hogs that arrive hot, dirty or shot through the gut.
You are paid when your hogs are weighed and pass our check-in. Bring a valid photo ID — we record the seller of every hog.
Live hogs: what we need
- Wild hogs only, captured in a trap or snare on land where you have permission. No pen-raised or domestic swine.
- Healthy and able to walk. Injured, down or sick hogs will be refused.
- Haul them straight from the trap, in a trailer that holds hogs securely and gives them room and shade. Texas law limits where feral hogs can be moved alive — they may only go to slaughter or to an authorized holding facility.
- Summer heat kills hogs fast. In hot months, haul early in the morning and do not leave hogs standing in a closed trailer.
- Call ahead so we are ready to unload and weigh.
Dead hogs: what we need
- A current company hunter license.
- Gutted within 30 minutes of the kill; stomach and intestines out.
- Heart, lungs, liver and skin left on the carcass so it can be inspected. See photos.
- At the plant within 6 hours of the kill, body cavity open or packed with ice.
- No buckshot, no gut shots, no hogs from areas where poison or toxicant baits are used.
The full requirements are on the field-dressing rules page.
Do I need a Texas hunting license?
Under Texas law since 2019, you do not need a hunting license to take feral hogs on private property with the landowner's consent. You do need one on public land. Our company hunter license is something different: it registers you as a supplier to our plant and does not replace any state license. Check the current Texas Parks and Wildlife rules before you hunt.
